My goal as a therapist is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. For some, what brings them to therapy is that they continue to be held back by a situation(s) or experience(s) from their past that they just can't let go of. Some people just haven't been able to re-write the tape of negative messages they have been telling themselves for years. Others have current events in their life that have caused them to think and feel differently than they ever have and now they can't figure out what to do about it. Some people come in to therapy because they are having a hard time finding support and my office is surely a place they will find it. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques such as CBT, DBT skills, EMDR, psychodramatic therapy, solution focused therapy, motivational interviewing, among others; I will guide you in self-discovery and empowerment to move past what is holding you back today.
Another tool I use in my work with clients, when appropriate, is animal assisted therapy. My trusty therapy dog, Bentley, is a golden-doodle and is a trained therapy dog. He is unconditionally loving, and offers support to clients who would like him present in their sessions.
